Lacrosse Stick (Crosse)
The most obvious piece of equipment necessary to play women’s lacrosse is the stick. Composed of a head and shaft, they are used to perform every aspect of the game and come in a variety of different styles.
Players buy sticks primarily based on personal preference and design, which vary depending on the player’s experience level.
The heads of the stick are laced with an intricate stringing design that provides speed, accuracy, and hold. Unlike men’s sticks, the women’s stringing does not include a pocket, which makes catching and cradling more difficult. Stick differences are primarily reflective of the dissimilar rules and playing style between men’s and women’s lacrosse.
